    Jr Site Reliability Engineer Responsibilities


    It is the responsibility of the Site Reliability Engineers to proactively protect and maintain Progrexion systems for our internal and external clients. This role requires basic technical competency in a number of diverse corporate technologies and excellent judgement and problem-solving skills. This may include evening and weekend schedules The core responsibilities of a Site Reliability Engineer are:

    • Acknowledge, triage, and respond to alerts from our application systems.
    • Understanding of the platforms application functionality, system flow, and technology infrastructure.
    • Develop and demonstrate detailed, proactive ownership for supported systems, including monitoring and documentation and process improvement.
    • Assist in the management of business impacting incidents including technical response coordination and documentation of issues and resolution
    • Work closely with DevOps and Development counterparts on issue identification and resolution, problem solving and monitoring related to production issues.
    • Develop and maintain internal documentation on supported systems, issue response, and standard operating procedures.
    • Implement monitoring configuration for existing and new systems using existing tools.
    • Monitor key performance benchmarks for applications.
    • A strong focus on business outcomes.
    • Administration of internal business applications


    Required Skills (from most important to least)

    • Linux (Ubuntu/Centos)
    • Web application administration – Apache, Glassfish, Wildfly, JBoss
    • Windows IIS
    • Some scripting experience – Bash, Python, Powershell
    • Experience with monitoring tools like Nagios/Prometheus
    • Experience with AWS or other cloud providers
    • Familiarity with Enterprise Application Infrastructures such as clustering, load balancers, and messaging
    • Knowledge of database design and SQL a plus
    • Understanding of SDLC
    • Familiarity with security fundamentals
