    Responsibilities

    Senior Site Reliability Engineer Responsibilities

    It is the responsibility of the Site Reliability Engineers to proactively protect and maintain Progrexion systems for our internal and external clients. This role requires strong technical skills in a number of diverse corporate technologies and excellent judgement and problem-solving skills. This is a daytime position but it is part of an on-call/modified schedule rotation that includes evening and weekend schedules. The core responsibilities of a Senior Site Reliability Engineer are:

    • This is a technical leadership position with responsibility to develop tools, scripts, and integrations to improve management of critical business systems.
    • Work with other technical groups to troubleshoot production issues that may include development review, database performance, and architectural improvements.
    • Work closely with DevOps and Development counterparts on issue identification and resolution, problem solving and monitoring related to production issues.
    • Develop and demonstrate detailed, proactive ownership for supported systems, including monitoring and documentation and process improvement.
    • Management of business impacting incidents including technical response coordination, documentation of issues and resolution, and leading post-mortem documentation and remediation.
    • Understanding of the platforms application functionality, system flow, and technology infrastructure.
    • Develop and maintain internal documentation on supported systems, issue response, and standard operating procedures.
    • Establish and monitor key performance benchmarks for applications.
    • Evaluate performance trends and expected changes in demand and capacity.
    • A strong focus on business outcomes.
    • Comfort with collaboration and communicating with all areas and levels of the business
    • Administration of internal business applications
    • Application capacity and performance planning

    Qualifications

    Required Skills (from most important to least)

    • Experience in a development or DevOps environment building systems using coding and/scripting systems Examples: Bash, Python, Powershell, Java
    • Linux application administration (Ubuntu/Centos)
    • Web application administration and technologies – Apache, Wildfly, JBoss
    • Windows IIS administration
    • Knowledge of database design and SQL
    • Experience with monitoring tools like Nagios/Prometheus
    • Experience administrating applications in cloud environment
    • Experience managing Enterprise Application Infrastructures such as clustering, load balancers, and messaging
    • Understanding of SDLC
    • Familiarity with security and network fundamentals
