    Having passion for learning and development is a must, if you’re unsure of this, you can stop reading now.  You kept reading, so that means you could be an enthusiastic, creative, team player who is excited to work with our HR, Leadership and Organizational Development team. Our leaders need support to build capabilities in an effort to be more effective, so, this role essentially inspires growth. You will work with all areas of the organization, top-to-bottom and side-to-side, to deliver training and development programs.

    Responsibilities

    You are someone who is:

     

    A Communicator – First and foremost, you need to be able to relate well to people! Be able to express yourself, with effect, verbally, in written form and in presentations to groups. You consider yourself to be precise, concise in your communication style, and you also listen very well. In this role you will create, instruct and facilitate instructor led courses, leadership workshops, development exercises or activities, eLearning modules, independent study tools and more. So, communication is a must!

     

    Energetic and Enthusiastic – You exhibit passion and excitement for your work, especially when conducting a classroom. You are positive, cheerful and dynamic and maintain optimism through ups and downs. You’re able to move full steam ahead keeping in mind your strong communication skills, yep, it came up again!

     

    Results Focused – There are A LOT of projects within this department and this role will need someone who can stay diligent and work within timelines – someone who understands all the nuances that comes with execution of these projects. You show personal initiative and independent motivation. Sometimes this means that you work as hard and as long as needed to achieve results…demonstrating that GRIT that everyone is talking about. Keep in mind, results focused means that we measure our results, evaluate training needs, program effectiveness and the always present ROI. In short, you talk the talk AND walk the walk.

     

    Creative and Innovative – An imaginative collaborator who possess, at least a little, artistic talent or aesthetic understanding. You can picture how “it” should look so that it is pleasing to the eye. You can create first-rate designs or products from scratch… alone, if needed. We like buy-in around projects, so, creation through collaboration is way more likely. This means that staying open-minded and generating inventive solutions is very helpful. In this role you will get to be creative and innovative with content and support materials, utilizing all sorts of media for things like participant guides, presentations, eLearning modules, video content and more!

     

    Tech Savvy – Yep, the Learning Management System (LMS) and some of the media software that we use to create “stuff” takes a bit of the ole’ tech savvy skills. First of all, you’ll need most of the basics, Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint, right, that’s not surprising. This role involves heading up the functional system administration, course publication and the program participation tracking and reporting. Wow, that sounds pretty heavy, but, you’ve got to have skills. 

    Qualifications

    • Experience presenting to a group, training and facilitation – comfortable, confident, makes connections with an audience and stays cool under pressure while in the spotlight
    • Experience with content creation and design – excited to share your ideas and what you have created – be prepared to showcase!
    • Strong technical skills, Microsoft Office and experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) preferred, by the way we use Cornerstone
    • Preferred Bachelor’s degree in related field - Social Sciences or Learning and Development, Communications, etc.
    • Preferred 2-4 years of experience in a training or learning and development role
